This is my story:
I bought a faulty iPhone 2G from ebay. The fault that was stated was that an error message saying "Repair Needed: iPhone cannot make or recieve calls". When it arrived I restored it with my itunes. I put a new o2 sim card into it and after a while of trying to "activate" an error message popped up saying somthing like "activation failed , no signal could be found".
I've tried following this tutorial: http://modmyi.com/forums/general-iph...e-calls-2.html
But it didnt work. I've tried jailbraking it too, that didnt work.
Unfortunatly after a while I realised the power/sleep button wasnt working, so i've had to order a new flex cable online.
But is this problem the baseband?? If so please can someone help me fix it..
I will pay a reward through paypal to whoever gives me a solution to fixing this iphone.
Feel free to add me on msn - spideysamson@hotmail.com
Thanks

Not the baseband.
Sounds like you bought a defective/faulty phone.
If it was simple the seller would restore it himself and would sell it for more.
Not much you can do.
