Hey y'alls in cyber space. Okay so I basically didn't know what terminal was until yesterday. . . so bare with me:)
I'm trying to root my htc one x on my mac and I found a youtube tutorial that seemed to be working well. here's the link to his website with the thingys I downloaded to root it.

Basically I got half way there and was using terminal to enter the commands and what not, but I think I must have mistyped something or screwed up? becuase now when I try to start over it just says :
    -bash: Desktop: command not found
here I was only trying to get into the desktop folder.

Anyways I have no idea what I'm doing and would appreciate any shred of advice! I really just wanna root my phone.
    Thank you strangers!

If you want to get in the desktop, the command should be:

    cd ~/Desktop

You didn't provide a link to any website.

cmaier is right. You need to use that command to change directories. As far anything else goes, we need to see what the recommended commands are.
