On two of my systems I'm still running Tiger. In my .profile I have the command shopt -s cdable_vars which for example enables me to set up individual directory short cuts. For example: docs='/Volumes/Library/Webserver/Documents', which in turns allows me to (from my term.), to navigate to the Documents directory by issuing the command "docs." I recently did a clean install of Leopard and have my .profile set up the same as Tiger. But the "docs" command doesn't seem to work?

    Thanks for any input!

    Problem solved.

I found my problem. I have my OS partitioned to a directory called "powerbookOSX." With Tiger I could set the shopt -s cdable_vars command to navigate to "/volumes/library". With 10.5 it seems I have to include, "/volumes/powerbookOSX/Library" in order to navigate to my needed directory. Who knew?
