I'm hoping to get some recommendations for software that will allow me to create basic engineering drawings on Mac.

Would love to have Autodesk's Fusion 360 but I'm not touching subscription based programs nor do I need a high cost seat w/the heavy hitters in the industry.

Mechanical Engineers - any recommendations? Free is good but cheap is okay - just need to bang out ideas and create basic sketches for fixtures etc - modeling not required.

Fusion 360 is free for students, hobbyist and shops that make less than 100k a year.
Not sure why you think it's subscription based.

    I am, not a student.
    I am, not a hobbyist.
I bring in far more than 100K per yr. (under normal circumstances)
Now are you satisfied that my question is legitimate?

What exactly was the point of your post?

Maybe I have missed something, but I have found no free access for hobbyists; only for students and educators for up to 3 years? As far as I can see it is indeed subscription based. If I have missed something would appreciate any guidance where/how it is apparently useable for free?
