Hi,

Regarding the "Documents" overall Folder to the immediate
right of the Dock's vertical dividing line.

What are the rules and protocols regarding what/how should be possible in using it ?

e.g.,

Should I be able to move documents into the established Folders there directly while
I am in it ?
I can't. Seems like I have to go to dragging to Desktop, etc.

What other manipulations are allowed, and not allowed for
using this Folder ?

Thanks,
Bob

hi

the right side of the Dock is an area where shortcuts to Files and Folders can be dragged.

you can drag Files directly into onto Folder shortcut for there and the file you are moving will be put into that Folder.
you can do this from either within a Finder window, or, from the Desktop.

you do not need (or, at least you should not need to) drag a file first to the Desktop and then onto one of these Folder shortcuts.
if you are finding you cant drag a file directly onto one of these Dock Folder shortcuts then you have changed something in yr system about drag and drop rules, or, simply try a reboot...
