I for one couldn't care less about streaming music and I wish Apple would go back to basics with the stock music app which would better resemble and function similarly to the iPod/Music app of iOS 6 and older. Apple should have a separate app for their streaming service through the App Store. When I open up my music app, I want to see my personal MP3 collection and only that and not have a service that I will never use be shoved down my throat and sidelining my entire locally stored library shoved and sidelined into one measly tab on the bottom. Why can't Apple make a default music player for iOS that's as beautiful, functional and easy to use as it was originally intended to be? I mean one of the original tentpole features of the iPhone that Steve Jobs demoed was that it's a "widescreen iPod with touch controls" but like many other things being done at Apple lately, Tim Cook is betraying the legacy of Jobs. Apple Music and iOS 9 for that matter is the final straw for me when it comes to iPhone, I will continue to be a Mac user they are the only product line that Apple Unless Apple completely rethinks their Music App, I'm done with iPhone. And yes I expect that to get condescending and snarky replies to my choice to leave iPhone but I don't really want to leave. The hardware is still great but the software has become absolute dogshit and now I have a 64GB iPhone with no music on it thanks to Apple Music but Apple as usual, is too arrogant to admit they screwed up the music app.
I think you can hide all traces of Apple Music by changing a setting in the settings app. EDIT: Yes you can.
I think you're missing the point, I want a Music app where all the tabs at the bottom are relevant to my personal collection (Artists, Albums, Songs, etc.) and not crammed into a single tab. Also I want a music app where the status bar doesn't obstruct the album art and where I can shake to shuffle, etc. I want a music app with a landscape mode as well. Also the new icon is butt ugly (the one in previous iOS 8 releases was perfect)
Sucks. It isn't gonna change. Suck it up. This is like the complaints from those that wanted the iOS 6 design back. Never going to happen.
Unfortunately you're probably right, Apple never listens to complaints and feedback. It's really sad considering I used to be a die-hard Apple loyalist but they've really been alienating me as of late (especially since iOS 7).
It really does suck, though. Sorry about that. I get you. I wish Apple would listen to customers more, but whatever. I made my promess to switch to Android this year, mainly because it's better for what I do. With Android, you don't have to depend as much on Google because a lot of the stuff is customizable.
Check out Cesium: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cesium-streamlined-music-player/id924491991?mt=8 I also have a thread about the various music players out there: http://forums.macrumors.com/threads/alternatives-to-music-app.1897484/ I know it's not the same thing, we'd all rather Apple be doing this for us, but it's the way it's going to be for who knows how long.
