BassJump subwoofer is my favorite audio-gadged on MacBooks for a looong time.
Software covers OSX/macOS from Leopard to Monterey even if TwelveSouth stopped to sell the hardware some time ago and since ElCapitan doesn't offer updates for the BassJump-Driver any more.
Unfortunately with Ventura the BassJump-driver stopped working.
Despite beeing amazed, how damn good OCLP Ventura performs on mid2012 15"MBP9,1 and 2013/14 11"MBA I was really sorry about loosing my favorite subwoofer.
I'm just into trying out OCLP Ventura since two weeks ago but today I gave BassJump a second try.
I removed the BassJump driver, went into Audio-Midi-Setup, set the Volume of the BassJump-device to about 30-40% and created a combined "Multiausgangsgerät" 😄 consisting of 'Internal Speakers' and BassJump.
Voilà, subwoofer is back! Well, no bells and whistles of the original GUI but seriously real improvement over just the 'internal speakers' without subwoofer-support.
Since Volume for the "Multiausgangsgerät" can't be controlled through the menu-bar, the AudioMidiSetup.App has got it's place in the dock now.
Together with the discovery of "Retroactive" (which empowers Aperture and iPhoto to run on Ventura), this is a huge step towards migration to OCPL Ventura. (But for now and until thorough testing of the reliability of Backup/Restore-procedures are done I gladly stick with patched_Mojave.)

SoundSource.App from RogueAmoeba brings back Keyboard and AppleRemote functionality for any "Multiausgangsgerät".
Well, maybe a bit pricy but compared to the alternatives a reasonable expense ...

Does it work under Sequoia?
My guess is that it will if it runs under Sonoma but it's still a guess
BassJump2 does work under Sequoia same way it works under Ventura and Sonoma.
One has to create a combined Sound-Out-Device within the Audio-Midi-Setup.App.
Alas sound-out controls become a bit cumbersome: Sound-Out volume of "internal speakers" and "BassJump"
need to be adjusted separately - there's no combined volume-control beyond the volume-control of the actively playing app.
But anyway it's worth it!

I gave Soundsource another test-drive, but sound gets oddly distorted. No recommendation for old Macs with OCLP-Booster anymore.

A few weeks back, I found this…MultiSoundChanger.

Currently, I have the BassJump you sent me paired with a small BT speaker that I have plugged in directly. As an Aggregate Device there is no native volume control (as this thread demonstrates). But MultiSoundChanger fixes that.

It has a few quirks…You can't mute, but you can bring the volume down very low. If it's been running for a while you may find there is no volume control whatsoever. Quitting and then restarting the app gets control back.

Also, if you periodically use BT for a headset or speaker you might notice that sound is much lower than normal when this app is running. For that reason, whenever I use my BT headset, I quit the app.

But it's a decent solution that in large part removes the frustration of not being able to control sound on Aggregate devices.

Got the volume keys working flawlessly with the Loopback app playing audio through the BassJump and internal speakers simultaniously.
It is a paid solution but it seems to be the best working option.
