Batch Converting .html files > word doc on a Mac

I've found that if you open a .html or .htm file in word and then save as .doc file, it saves the images in and then I just have to e-mail it to myself as an attachment for offline reading. Is there any way to batch convert a bunch of .html or .htm files to .doc retaining all the images? (simply changing the extension). I realize this could also go under the os x forum, but this is for iPhone purposes so I figure people here will have a better a understanding of what I'm trying to accomplish. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This doesn't answer your question, but instead of saving as HTML and then converting to doc, have you tried printing to PDF and reading that on the iPhone? Maybe enlarging the text before "printing" if necessary.

A better solution would be to use a dedicated offline website downloader and use Safari to browe the offline site files on the iPhone.
