battery %%% acting weird

I have just purchased a new 5S which is fantastic...
BUT, I have a question and this has nevr happened on any of the iPhones I have owed.
After a complete over night charge, the battery percentages show 99%. But if I turn the phone off and back on the percentage goes to 100%
What is causing this and is there some way I can correct this...

Seems to be a software issue.
