So after being in my pocket and jingling around on my keys for a little over a year I get a warning that my battery is about to die. I attempted to open the case to get to the battery and that thing is shut tight. There is no way to get it open. Not going to have Apple do it for money so I guess that is the end of my Air Tags, unless someone has a way to get the darned thing open.

A firm press and twist and mine is off.

You may need to use pliers and risk damaging the edges (of the metal cover) or use something to unstick it (alcohol, WD-40 etc).

First put down the potato chips and wash your hands thoroughly.

Next press gently on the silver dome and twist counterclockwise.
