battery chargin issues

When I plug my ac adapter in it only works if i push it in certain ways or brace it under the computer. Otherwise it buzzes and is a less bright orange color and says that it isn't plugged into the wall. Any idea what the problem might be? Thanks much.

By the way it's a g4 and I have recently got a new ac adapter and battery.

It sounds like the connection is dodgy on the side of the machine. Does it feel loose when you move the adapter? Inspect the hole and see if you can see anything.

It'll probably take a trip to the Apple store to sort it out.
