why worried ? you don't expect the battery to last forever right ?
relax it's fine.

the cycle count does seem pretty high for a one month old laptop. I am assuming it means you let the battery drain and charge it twice a day ?

My MBP is 1.5 yrs old and has a cycle count of 249 and condition is normal fyi

A battery cycle count of 60 is reason to worry. The definition of a "full" battery cycle is full charge to full discharge, in other words 100% to 0% battery charge. Normal use is defined as 1 cycle every few days. I've had my MBP 15" for about half a year now and I only have 25 battery cycles used. Don't worry, you have 1000 cycles before the battery degrades past 80% health, that is part of the warranty (only if you have the new unibody with non-replaceable battery).

It just means the OP uses two full battery cycles a day-not a reason to worry. 96% might be a little low for 60 cycles, but the charge has a tendency to fluctuate. At the end of the day, use your computer in the manner that suits you and don't worry about the battery at this point. 🙂

...

mine is 2 months old with 40 cycles and has a 94% life remaining. You can get that to increase by calibrating the battery. I got it up to 97% by calibrating once.

60 cycles is alot. Sounds like you're essentially calibrating it everyday or you're dicharging to 50%, charging, dicharging to 50%, and then charging. The latter is not as bad as the former, but you will be, at 80% way before most. I'd keep it connected to power longer and then let it discharge to 30-50% and then charge.

It's fine, and don't change your usage habits out of worrying about the battery. Batteries are meant to be used.
