has anyone else noticed since the update to 4.2.1 the battery life really sucks? before the update normal use would be around 70% at lunch time now its well below 50% and also seems to take a lot longer to charge.

Is your iPhone jailbroken? Did you "hactivate" with Redsn0w?

Turning off notifications helps me, but I may do a restore as new just to see how that works.

i did use redsnow. my wifes phone and friends phone are not JB and they are having the same problem.
Redsn0w's "hactivating" is partly the problem. Also you should set up your iPhone as "new".
