Over the last couple of weeks my MacBook Pro has been draining the battery on standby. Today I unplugged it at about 9:00 AM and by 5:00 PM it was down 25%. Usually it's in my backpack all week as I really only use it for classes, and I charge it once or twice a week. Has anybody experienced something similar to this lately? Or maybe knows of a particular software that might be doing this?

2015 MacBook Pro 13 3.1/16/512
MacOS 10.14.3
Battery Cycles: 401

Thanks!

If you do not want it to discharge, turn it off. 25% is more than I would expect to see, but the fix is relatively easy; turn it off.

Use Activity Monitor to check if any apps are preventing sleep.

While the MacBook is unplugged from the power, run pmset -g from terminal and post the results.

I've heard others complain about this too. I wonder if there is a known bug within the latest firmware causing the battery drain etc.

Thanks what I was kind of wondering. But I actually thought of the SMC reset about 20 minutes after making this post, and that seems to have fixed it. It's only been 3 hours, but I'm still at 100%.

I don't know why I didn't think of SMC before. Thanks guys
