Battery drain super fast after TM restore?

The fact that it is currently indexing should alleviate any momentary concern about the battery. I don't think you have anything to worry about. I set up as new so, I can't comment on the "restore from TM backup" aspect.

You were right. Today with multiple tabs, email, watching YouTube, etc I show 19:17 time left on battery. Definitely better than my M1 Pro.
