Hi,

This is the first time that I have experienced a serious battery drain problem. I don't know what's going on to be honest. Here's the story: As you can see from my pictures the battery of my iPhone X got drained WHILE charging and while it was locked all the time. What the heck is going on? When clicking on a slice of the diagram it says that the "Home and Lock Screen" are responsible for 100% of the battery usage during that time.

Has anyone else also experienced something like that and knows what's going on?

Thanks and best wishes
Chris

p.s. I'm on 13.3.

Are you using the default 5V Apple adapter? Or something low powered?
If you’re using the default one and this happened more than once you could try signing out of iCloud and back in. And if that doesn’t solve it try a reset of all settings.

But first try a hard reset by holding the home and power button.

I was charging the iPhone wirelessly with a 10W charger (I think the iPhone X supports up to 7.5W). This is the first time that this happened. I did a hard reset. Fingers crossed that this will not happen again :)

It could be related to many factors, hardware or software.
The easiest explanation is an app went rogue (or a system service). That could be solved by a reset or a restore of the phone.
Unfortunately it could be something worse, like an hardware defect or a defective battery (iPhone X could be 2+ years old).
In any case, keep it under monitoring to see if it happens again.

My first thought goes to the charger. Even with a rogue app, if using a solid 2a charger it would likely still not run down. If it happens again I would switch out the wireless charger for a 2a wired charger and validate.

Yup, let's see if it happens again. Just fyi I was using Nomad's Native Union's Drop XL Wireless Charger.

Did you mean Native Union? Funny, because I think Santa is getting me one of those. I hope it's not the charger then!
Oh yes, my bad, I mean Native Union's charger 😄 Actually it's a really good charger so far. And this charging incident was perhaps iOS' fault. Good luck 😁

I'm having the same problem. At the end of the day my Xs phone still has about 60% charge left; I put in on the wireless charger and sometimes wakeup to find that it's completely dead, i.e. instead of charging the phone, it drains the phone. Have you resolved your problem? Were the folks at Native Union helpful?

Loving the charger so far. Works well with dual phone and phone / AirPods charging. Looks nice as well.

I didn’t investigate this issue further to be honest because luckily (so far) I only had the issue this one time.

Happy New Year to everyone here 🥳
