There is absolutely nothing you can do. iOS 11 is just a bad release for older phones. My 7 Plus battery life is 60% of what it was on iOS 10.3.3. Lasts only 7 hours of use. Don't bother doing a clean install or a restore. You will just waste your time.

Only the iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X get good battery life on iOS 11

Have you tried any troubleshooting? Restarting? Checking what apps might be using the battery? Resetting all settings? Etc.

Not everyone by far is suffering significant battery issues, let alone any really. Just telling people there's nothing they could even try without knowing anything else and then trying out some things (especially if someone just stated noticing something after one particular update and not all throughout), is kind of disingenuous.

I put 11 on my 6s+ ton Sunday, the same day that I bought an Apple Watch and paired them together. My battery was draining much more quickly than normal, but I assumed it was the watch pairing. Today the battery seems much more stable, and I've read that sometimes the battery issues do resolve within a few days. My husband has had 11 on his 7 for a while now and hasn't noticed any battery issues.

I also updated three iPad mini 2s to 11, and they seem to be okay too, and actually are working better with the update than I had anticipated.

And apparently my 6S, and my GF's 7.

The only thing you can suggest is a restore and setup as new which isn't really a good option for users because of so much data being stored on the device and because Apps and all the other services are sandboxed they don't cause much of a difference in battery life. There is really nothing you can do.

Rubbish. Many times under 10 the Facebook app of the period would run away, using enough energy to make my 5S warm and drain the battery, simply restarting the app made it behave. Your assumption that doing nothing is better than carrying out some activities that may well restore normality makes no sense. At. All.

There are plenty things you can try even before a restore, especially in a situation where we don't even know what has been tried or what could be going on.

Jumping to hyperbolic conclusions from the get-go without even knowing most of the details is certainly not something that's useful and can even be detrimental.

Incorrect. My Air 2 battery life is better on iOS 11 than iOS 10. Without a doubt.

First under settings / battery what does it say is using all the battery? Is there something strange there. If one app seems to be using all the battery I would try force quitting that app and see what happens - probably do a restart also.
If still major battery use I'd force stop all the apps - do a restart and just see what happens. If things change - then I'd only start a few apps and see what happens etc. Are you running Youtube that recently has been reported as a big battery user.
I'd do a bunch of these steps before I did a complete restore. See what you see and if you see something that will help ...

My 6s, my wife's 6, daughter's 6, and son's 5s ALL exhibiting crazy battery drain. Lasting less than half what it usually does (My 6s barely lasting 4 hours under normal usage that would last the whole day). Mine and my wife's on 11.1.1. Think my son and daughter on 11.1. So bad, I did a factory refresh and reinstalled everything (didn't help). Trying to troubleshoot, I did decide to turn off wifi when not at home (aka wouldn't normally be connected to wifi anything) and it seemed to be better (not great) but didn't get a chance to really verify it as I just updated to 11.1.2 as desperate to try and do something to make it better...

Have an Air 2, and ipad pro 10.5 - haven't really had a chance to validate them on the change...

The 6s should last a day and my 7 Plus 2 days. Now they have both halved.

My iPhone can last a day with minimal usage. Unfortunately when using apps that requires extensive power, my 6s can only stand 3-4 hours.

And telling those of us with these issues that it will be ok is also disingenuous.

iOS 11 ruined my phone and my wife's phone. Even tried restoring and running without ANY 3rd party apps for a day. No difference. Batteries are less than a year old on both our phones. So, no. It's not degradation. And, no, it's not a rogue app. And yes, it started immediately after updating to 11.

I don't really care if someone's iPad out there is running great on iOS 11. That is completely irrelevant and it's pointless for you to say "don't give up!" when some of us have done everything and found that there is no solution.

Take it back to Apple then.... because if there really is an issue they will swap out, that’s my experience anyway. If there is not, they won’t.

Welp...

Nope. They basically just told me today that my battery is fine and that getting 15 hours standby or 3 hours use from an iPhone 6S on iOS 11 is to be expected because “it’s a very computationally intensive OS.”

So, nope. It’s not ok to put 11 on an old phone. Even Apple admits it.

3 hours SOT?

What?

My guy is still running 9.3.5 on his 6s. He gets at least 7-8. 3? That's absurd. Wow...
