hi - Iphone 6S plus here, 9.3
i now encountered this, still in shock!
i came to work with 100% battery,
and after 20 minutes of casual usage i looked at the battery and it's 46%!!

anyone had this before?

thanks.

Your title is misleading for a start!

The gauge must have been off in the first place. Discharging 54% in 20 minutes would be impossible given the internals even with GPS enables would struggle to consume that much.

sorry i cannot change the title.. it should be "in minutes"..
but i'm not talking about usage, i'm talking about that huge 50% chunk dropping right off!
i'm super precise about my battery usage, all elements of battery drainage are off. (usually getting home at evening at 75%!),
and this is some kind of weird stuff.

If you're consistently having this issue, and the battery itself isn't lasting beyond a few hours, then it can only be a hardware issue.

You can take it to an Apple Store for them to assess, or call Apple Support & they will text you some phone diagnostics that you can run through.

This is the first time so not sure yet.
Someone told me weird battery issues might relate to the 9.3?

9.3 has been known to cause battery drain sometimes up to 50% increase in drain

i suspect this is the issue atm. any link on that?
i'll wait it out..
will be glad to hear anyone who also has this with 9.3
thanks.

Just some people seeing some increased battery usage after the update, pretty much as usually the case with almost any update.

Oh but this is not the case

I thought the 9.3 glitch was sudden 50% drop in battery like i had today,
Not the usual worse battery drainage..
The usual part was about there practically always being people with some battery issues with petty much any update--some not so severe while others more severe.

9.3.1 is being beta tested right now and may cure the issue you're experiencing. Should be released soon.

so this IS a known bug issue with 9.3?
i didn't find anything on this yet.

I have an iPhone 6+. After I installed 9.3 my battery was dropping 10% (from 100% to 90%) in a few minutes - noticeably falling like a brick to 50% when normally it would take days to get there. coconutBattery said I had 93% of design capacity left.

So, I drained the phone till it shut off. Now I have 98.8% of design capacity left and phone acts like normal.

Worked for me, let me know if it works for you.

Not if battery cells are messed up

well for now i didn't have this again, so may be a one time glitch.
indeed it's too weird to have 50% drop for no reason, unless a faulty batter or a bug,
but a faulty battery would probably give me more trouble until now.
i'm starting to think i imagined fully charging the phone and perhaps the charger wasn't connected at all :/
