Just a quick note...

The new displays are significantly brighter than the old ones. I have a retina 15" and an Air side by side with my TMBP.

It may be that some users are keeping their brightness cranked up. I'm using Lightroom and PS and use that brightness for photo work, but the rest of the time I dial back to normal brightness.

I'm getting 8 to 10 hours. Naturally, the apps you use will factor in hugely, but after 8 cycles of charging, my 13" is living up to the battery claims. Since some youtube tests also show good battery life, we're left with the following:

Some units have bad batteries.
Some users have brightness too high.
Some users have software that is effecting battery life.

Don't forget:

All units have significantly less battery power.

Here's a good example from macinsider...

"With regard to battery life, Apple claims the new machine can last up to 10 hours compared to 9 with last year's model. Many users have been reporting worse battery life with regular use. During 4K youtube playback, our 2015 MacBook Pro displayed 21% longer battery life than the 2016 MacBook Pro.

If you're on the go you can charge the 2016 MacBook Pro with a USB-C power bank, which is something the 2015 model can't do.

Testing the batteries during 4K rendering, the 2016 MacBook Pro lasted 40% longer before dying. So from our testing, during simpler tasks like web browsing, the efficiency of the latest processor doesn't completely make up for the smaller battery. In medium to heavy tasks, the 2016 MacBook Pro stacks up or is better than the older model."

As you can read above, during intensive tasks, the new MBP is superior for battery life.
Now again, I have two 13" TMB and I'm getting comparable battery life when running the screens at the same brightness.

My MacBook Air is still the battery champ, but all of my MacBooks can get me through a normal day without issue.

Today...about 3 hours using Lightroom and listening to music via iTunes. No other apps running for the most part. Screen brightness 4 clicks below max except for when I was using Lightroom. Online the entire time with Safari.

I just hit 8 hours and I'm at 18%.

My air would be good for another two hours, but I don't see that this is much different from my 15" retina and I've got a much better screen and set of speakers.

hey bro, could u get coconut battery, and let us know your battery discharge rate?

Right now i'm getting about 7-10W when idle, and abt 15-20W when surfing 10 tabs using Chrome...

This would be a good way to gauge how much Wattage equates to an 8-10 hr batt life.

Thanks!

I average about 11-12 hours per charge. 13" nTB.
