Battery failure is an issue I have had before with the MX Ergo trackball. This is the 3rd one I have had fail in each with just over a year of use. This one is the "S Plus" version with the USB-C port. It is in almost new condition. I ordered a new one. Later I was wondering about a battery replacement. I am starting to learn just how handy Alexa+ is. I asked it if there was a battery replacement for the MX Ergo S trackball. It ruminated for about 10 seconds and found the replacement; Amazon. I never would have found this searching by myself. It even has the tools needed to open the trackball. This same battery is also used on the other MX wireless logitech mice. Had I thought about this earlier the fix would have been $15 USD. I watched YouTube tutorials on the replacement and it is very easy. Here is another juicy tidbit. The installed battery on the MX series is 500mAh, as you can see the replacement is 1200mAh.

As you can this battery is rated at 1200 mAh. I have learned to be suspicious of these rating from my experience with 18650 batteries. Another question to Alexa+ and it found tests of this battery and its actual value is between 950 to about 1000 mAh. That is still a big improvement over the 500 mAh battery originally installed.
