I have an iPhone 8 (not the plus) and I'm running 12.1 OS. I take the phone off the charger in the morning and like 1-2 hours later I'm at like 10% battery life or less. I can't pin point when exactly this started happening, I feel like its only been a week or less. New things for me recently are: I downloaded 12.1 OS when it first came out, and I bought an Apple Watch for the first time about 2 weeks ago. When I go into settings---> battery, it looks like YouTube and Facebook are the two apps beating up my battery the most. They both seem to be using up battery in the background. I'm not sure that's the problem, as I haven't changed how I use these apps. Maybe a recent app update for both of them is causing me problems.

There is few times that you might wanted to let it run completely dead the. Plug the phone in and let the charge to full. Sometimes this works.

I’m down 36% in one hour after taking my phone off charger at 100% charge. I’m baffled. I wasn’t even using my phone for the full hour. Here are some screen shots. Maybe some of you can help me make sense if this.

Edit:
I just installed 12.1 beta 2 after the above post. Hopefully that will have fixed this battery problem. I’ll post back my findings.

Ur on a beta. Comes with the territory

Beta software is known to have issues every now and then. I’d install 12.0 and see if that straightens it out
On the other hand those who aren't on a beta release and are having battery inconsistencies or issues get the recommendation of trying a beta to see if that might help them out (after they've tried the typical things and haven't really seen any changes).

Probably good advice. I was having some battery issues so I did a clean install using iTunes and it’s back to normal battery performance for my usage..

Seems latest beta (I think 12.1 beta 3? Installed 10/9/18) seems to have improved the battery issue.
