Universal Battery Health: GOING OUT OF BUSINESS ☹️

UPDATE March 22nd: Removed.

A certain fruit company has notified me that they don't like my app, Battery Health, and that I have a few days to remove all power-related information from it (which would make it useless). Otherwise it will be permanently removed from the App Store within a few days.

If you'd like to own the only app on the App Store that provides real battery health, cycle count, and charging speed information for iOS devices, you have just a few days left. I've reduced the price to $0.99 from now until it is removed.

NOTE: The app will continue to function after it is removed from sale, and you will be able to download it on additional devices, etc. Unfortunately they will not approve any updates/improvements going forward, so this is an as-is deal.

I purchased your app before sale and I am pretty happy with the app though. Is there anyway I can receive the updates , if the app is removed from store. I mean receiving the app through email and side loading it through APPANDORA or any other applications which pushes the app to the phone .

I purchased it to support you. Very good app, with informations confirmed from both Coconut Battery on my Mac and Battery Doc on my iPhone, but very detailed.
It's a pity Apple is going to remove it....

Just a question: if you remove the extensive info from the app, as for Apple request, won't I loose them at the first app update ?

Well, the seemingly good part is that it seems like the app is still there, although it seems to be listed at $3.99 for some reason (instead of the $0.99 sale price that was mentioned earlier).

My apologies, the sale was scheduled for 7 days and automatically bounced back to the original price afterwards (the app lasted longer in the store than expected). In any case, it has been already removed.

Actually no.

I think people generally avoid bad mouthing them in order to just maintain a good relationship. I have not had any contact with anyone telling me not to disclose anything about the removal of my app. Nor have I heard of such an instance from my many iOS developer buddies.

Ahh, darn. Okay. Sorry it had to be removed. I use coconut battery, was able to get that before it was removed, hence the reason why I didn't jump on yours. I was going to use it as a backup to Coconut battery. You would think Apple would encourage these types of apps. Keeps people from making unnecessary genius bar appointments for battery problems.

Excellent app, bought iT in time and with the 29W iPad Pro 12.9" charging I've found it very useful. Even though it's a little bit crippled because it can't be updated.

You know, I have literally thousands of emails from disappointed users on account of iOS 10 killing all battery apps. I even have a couple of people swearing that this is the last straw and that they are switching to Android...

The sad thing about them withholding this information is that it is completely pointless. How would showing something like battery cycle count or information about the currently plugged-in charger affect them? It wouldn't -- they just figure users don't need to know.

I understand. Its not just the battery apps, but also the launcher apps that have lost useful functionality in iOS 10. Tim Cook promised to open up iOS, but in many areas he is closing it down further. Dis-abling and deleting apps upsets users and developers. If the good developers see their work dis-abled or deleted they will just stop producing good apps, further upsetting device owners.

I try to use my iOS devices for business on the go, but having watched the last key note and the struggles I have to do work on an iOS device (even with some fantastic 3rd party apps like FileBrowser), Apple seems to be heading to a fitness / gaming device. Shame.

"The truth will set you free." Except in this case it costs Apple money. Knowing the the truth about your equipment forces them to do the right thing.

Also it will hamper the cheap battery replacement market, giving Apple more proceeds. Having your app and ones like it allowed me to go to a third party battery at a discount store and know for certainty I was getting a good $35 battery. Took them 5 batteries to find a good one.

Always, always follow the money trail. Then you will know the truth.
