I have iPhone 8 for 3 weeks now. I have noticed today that the capacity of battery has decreased to 99%

Is this normal?

Absolutely, battery degradation isn’t linear and can change from a number of conditions.. The battery is designed to be at least 80% after 500 charge cycles.

I would go back to the store and demand a refund, then buy a one plus.
