I have heard with certain batteries that the first time you use them they should be fully charged, and then run them until they're completely dry a few times. Just wondering if anyone suggests this and if this is not done, will a battery in a macbook pro not hold a charge as long?

    Thanks a bunch

Does it need to be done more than once though? My brother in-law recently bought a new phone and they told him to do it 5 times...

Yes, it's recommended. First charge is recommended to be overnight/over 10 hours.
