battery info needed

hey guys need some advice just got a 17" powerbook. looking through the manual about initial charge. as far as i can make out i let the battery drain totally then do a full charge??

is that correct??

You must calibrate the battery.
1. Make sure you charge it until the light on the power supply goes green.
2. Use it until it goes to sleep and won't work any more.
3. Charge it until the light goes green again. (you can use it during this process, but don't unplug it until the light goes green)
