I have coconut battery installed and the maximum charge % is different from what the battery indicator from the OS shows. My mac also suddenly goes to sleep and when i tried to wake it up it indicates that battery is completely drained even though the battery is at 20-40% before this happens. Any ideas ?

It does indeed have only 940 cycles .Apple says that you will need at least 1000 cycles for it hold abreast 80% charge.

The symptoms you're describing typically point to a bad battery.

1000 cycles isn't a guarantee, it's an estimate. Battery life can vary wildly with different uses.

I went to apple store today and they have mentioned that it would cost 399 since the top case assembly needs to be replaced as well since battery's are glued to it. How come it says that battery replacement is only 199$ online?

Wow $399. That isn't cheap. I'll have to keep this in mind as I decide to stay with the Air lineup. Jeez.

Quote the online price at the store & ask.

That's a good question to ask Apple while you're in the store.

The other question is if apple needs to replace the entire case with keyboard and the trackpad ,do the put the new butterfly mechanism keyboard and force touch pad ? Just curious :)

Uh, what? They'll replace the parts with whatever should be in there.

It'll be replaced with the same part # that was originally installed. Regular keyboard and regular trackpad.

Where are you??? They have to stand by their standard charges in the country they are quoted for. Unless of course you are taking it to an apple authorised store rather than a real Apple Store.
