Battery issue

Hey guys I got my MBP in Jan 2007 so its less than a year old and I only have 67 cycles on it. My battery health is 54%. Does apple cover this? I know batteries are consumables but this seems like a large drop in performance. Anyone know? Thanks

Have you done a search about calibrating your battery?

yes i calibrated it the other day and it brought it up to 54%, it was at 46% beforehand.

Call Apple. I think you are entitled to a new battery.

if I were to but the extended applecare would this be covered if it happens again. I know normal wear on the battery isnt but a huge drop like this? I will drop by my local apple store and see if they can give me a replacement battery.

you should ask when you get your battery replaced. I didn't buy applecare and my battery crapped out at 1.5 years with only 120 cycles. They replaced it free of charge cause I had a two year warranty on my battery outside the 1 year applecare. It could be the same thing for you

they'll replace it. They replaced my 1 year old battery with 68 cycles at 34% health. I got it replaced under applecare.
