Hello this is the first time I've ever owned a mac. I switched from a PC last March to buy macbook air. So far, I have no problems. However I just have minor issue with the battery. I take my laptop EVERYWHERE, I take it to school everyday and I like to carry it around the house w/o its adapter because it's so light and portable.

The problem is i just bought this laptop last march and I've already gone through 81 cycles. At this rate, I might have gone through 300 cycles in less than a year. My concern is that my battery life will diminish so soon and I might have to replace the battery every year even if I buy applecare because beyond 300 cycles, battery is not covered anymore, right?

How about you guys based on your experience with macs, does the battery health really diminish at a significant rate when it hits 300 cycles?

If your health drops below 80% before 300 cycles, you can get your battery replaced under warranty. Apple claims the battery can have at least 80% even at 300 cycles. I'm only at 45 cycles currently and my health is at 95%

the health of mine hovers between 89-95% in about 100 cycles. The most important thing is to keep the underside of the laptop ventilated. If the battery doesn't get too hot it keeps it's health.
