I think Apple may surprise us again! I really hope the battery life will be great. Battery life is maybe the #1 spec on a smartwatch.

I think Apple have "leaked" these battery times to limit expectations. When Tim says it will last two days everyone in the audience is going to go wild.

It's almost certainly the exact opposite of what you've just said. They've leaked short battery life details to set expectations so no one goes "WTF?!" When he says it will need charging everyday, because we already know it's coming

This is nonsense. No company is going to "leak" information detrimental to a major release. Once a story is out there, it's hard to control, and impossible to take back. There are average people hearing about this who will forever claim that the :apple:Watch has poor battery life because of stories like this one. The story may or may not be true, but I can assure you it wasn't leaked by Apple so they can have a gotcha moment at launch.

I'm not saying it's going to be massively different. I think most people accept the industry norm for a smart watch battery life is one day. Now that this is accepted two days will sound a lot better.

Battery life going to be better than we think?

the battery life is probably better than expected because they cut off several health features...

I think Apple may surprise us again!

they already did, they scrapped health monitoring and they are now focusing the watch being just a companion device for iphone.

You can't "scrap..." something you didn't announce. R&D is working on all kinds of things that never make it or are not yet in production. This applies to every company.

Wait a second! You saying that the sensors for the heart rate that were in the initial announcement are scrapped? I wish for once some people would use just a little bit their head when they read poorly written rubbish on the internet.

Allegedly they had planned many more health related sensors which were removed before the Apple watch was announced because they couldn't quite perfect it to their liking. So you will get all the features announced (and also unannounced) on the Apple watch. Not sure what have surprised you.

I rather have an Apple Watch with "OK" battery life than have no Apple Watch at all. So I accept what I get with this 1st gen.

That said, look how fast the huge iPhone battery charges. If you can plug the Watch's tiny battery in for 15 minutes some time during the day, you will get plenty of life out of it.

I can plug it in when I shower at night, wear it to bed, then plug it in for 15 minutes in the morning, and I'm good.

It seems an odd thing to do with a "watch" but it's no big deal.

Of course, if you won't wear it to bed, you can get a full charge then, then a 15 minute top off mid day.

No HRM are still there, the other things they wanted are gone because they were unreliable - things like blood sugar...
