So i installed iOS 5 on my ipod touch 4g, and the battery life seems to be really horrible.

Main problem is when i leave it overnight, on 4.3.5 i used to get almost no loss of battery overnight but now its draining approx 20-30% overnight. Any suggestions so as to stop this problem? because i heard some people are getting BETTER battery life from IOS 5

Airplane mode maybe? Wi-Fi really drains my battery for some odd reason, so I use airplane mode. It takes 2-5 seconds to turn on/off unlike Android, which takes at least 30 seconds. That's all I can give you, sorry!

well there's gotta be any other solution because that would really suck that I gotta turn off wifi then i'd get no notifications at all from my email, facebook, imessage, etc :/

Do you have iCloud Backups enabled? This might be the cause. My iPhone tends to back itself up every night. I thought it was supposed to only do this when plugged in, but it may be a bug that allows it to perform the backup anyway.

Yeah, when I did my first iCloud backup, my battery drained like mad. That might be the cause.

I thought it was supposed to back up on when plugged in too! Maybe that might be a problem, i turned all the icloud features off except for find my iPod. lets see if that helps.

but it sucks that you have to turn ooff one of the main features of iOS 5 to save battery :p

I was seeing poor battery life too in my iPhone 4 after upgrading. I did a restore and setup as a new phone and that took care of the problem (for now). You'll lose passwords, settings, saved games, etc. and have to start from scratch.
