I knew battery life would be poor but not this bad. I have had it on since 10am and it's now almost 3pm. The battery is already under 35%. Is this common or did I get a bad watch ?

And no, I didn't use it a ton. Just normal glancing at it with notifications.

I've had mine on since 8am, its now 2pm and its still at 91%, i've hardly used it though.

I don't know what you're doing on your watch, but mine comfortably lasted from 11am to 1am with 10% left yesterday. Today I've used it from 10 am to right now (2:55 pm) and its at 80%.

May take a full power cycle first to optimize the battery life. I would not charge it and let it run down to zero, then charge it overnight and see what your results are tomorrow.

I'd also expect off the bat we are all going to be using it constantly resulting in lesser than "all-day battery".

took it off charge at about 8am, been using it quite a bit - a lot more than yesterday - it is now 8pm and I am 57%.

Mine's been on since 7 AM and it's now 3 PM and I'm at 72%. I've been dicking around with it all day and even used the music app repeatedly at the gym. At the minimum it's as good as I hoped. At best I could say it exceeds what I expected.

Took it off at 8.30am and it's now almost 8pm with 57% left. I've used it quite a bit for notifications and looking up sports scores today. So I'm happy with that.

Mine had 70% when I unpacked it at 8:30 Friday morning, I used it for what I would consider a lot since I wanted to play with my new toy, and still had 28% at 3am when I went to bed, recharged it overnight and am currently at 97% after having been up for 5 hours.

TL;DR My battery is MUCH better than I expected so far.

If this is true, I would definitely contact Apple support.

Not terrible on mine. It's been off since 10 am and it's 3 pm now and I'm down to 73%. It's actually right on par with my 6+ lol

I started at 100% at 7 AM. Normal usage, but walked the dog as a workout (outdoor walk, both GPS and heart rate monitoring) for 43 minutes. I'm at 67 percent right now.

Either your battery is wonky or your normal usage is abnormal.

Took mine off the charger at 8:30am, it's 3:00 now and I'm still at 69%. I used it to listen to music for a bit and I've been getting a lot of notifications and also testing out the digital touch quite a bit today.

Not my experience at all. I've had it on since 10:00am and it's now past 2:00. It's at 85%. See if it does this consistently. If so, perhaps you got a bad watch.

I thought with the newer batteries, draining them was bad?

I thought it was best to stay im between 20-90%?

I posted this a few days ago and people where laughing at me calling me crazy

But that's what I do with new iPhone or iPad , I let the battery die

That's helps with battery next time is fully charged

I only do it once In the beginning

I barely got to use mine at all yesterday, so I didn't really get much of a feel for how long the battery would last. I played and played with it this morning for five hours almost continuously, including syncing a playlist and some photos to the device, and the battery was still close to 70 percent. I thought that was pretty remarkable. Obviously, that's way more than I would use it on any normal day.

Mine has pretty much gone the entire day without a recharge. Is your watch lighting up like every few seconds with notifications or something?

Yea you have to disable the non important notifications in the Apple watch iPhone app

Mine is better than expected. 38mm, I've had it on since 6am, it is 3:30pm, I'm at 62%. Now I haven't exercised yet, which will probably drain the battery more but I'm going to have to monitor it to see.

Quite impressed with my battery life.

Been on my wrist since 9am and it's now 3:30pm where I am. 77% remaining still.

Battery life much worse then expected !

Same here. Took the watch on this morning at 7 am . Used it not a lot. Actually I used it as much as I would assume someone with such a watch will use it. Of course first day and I may have played a little more with it. Long story short at 8 pm the watch went into power savings mode...

Hey Apple thats 13 hours and not 18 !!! Where did my missing 5 hours go?

I may send the watch back...
