It's hard for me to explain how much so because you don't know how I use my phone but let's just say by this time in the morning it's usually down anywhere from 96 - 94%! I know it's not gotten much usage yet, but like I said, it would have already dropped six or so percent by this time every morning. I'm stoked!

I never turn wifi off (ever.)
Screen stays at 60%.
Bluetooth always off.

Anyone else already experiencing a definite improvement?

Mine was good before the update so be interesting to see if it stays the same or improves

I was similarly excited after the update to iOS 5.0.1 when I saw my battery remain at or near 100% following little to no usage and, as a result, thought that my battery life had been significantly improved, however, now that my phone has experienced 2+ hours of usage and 15+ hours of standby, my conclusion is that, for me, it is apparently unchanged.

I took a screenshot of my usage and battery percentage prior to the 5.0.1 update with a bit more standby time than now so I'll wait until I reach that similar amount of time to report back with a more definitive conclusion.

has anyone turned everything back on?

i turned off all the system services in location services. i'm curious if the time zone setting bug was fixed at all. i haven't turned mine on to test because its not really necessary.

I only had the time zone problem on my iPad on 5.0. I tried turning that setting back on with 5.0.1, and the arrow for location services still remained on permanently. I turned it back off.

2 mins usage
3 hours standby

1% drop

Now I'm on 77% and dropping like usual to be honest. Need to do a few charge cycles to test properly.

cool ...
so which firmware should we use for iphone 4s to get better battery range

5.0 or 5.0.1

Well no matter what people say they experience, I would say 5.0.1 is the only logical choice given Apple has said that this update addresses battery drainage.

5.0 or 5.0.1

Depends? Although a lot users have reported that 5.0.1 did fix their battery issue, while some said it hasn't and have gotten worse?

If you had no issue on 5.0 then stay on 5.0.

5.0 or 5.0.1

Considering the release notes for iOS 5.0.1 below, I'd say the latter:

This update contains improvements and other bug fixes including:

- Fixes bugs affecting battery life
- Adds Multitasking Gestures for original iPad
- Resolves bugs with Documents in the Cloud
- Improves voice recognition for Australian users using dictation

Seriously? This "setting" as you called it is impossible. Siri + "touch" + internet + games = all times? How? And you write that you got 5 hours on your iPhone 4 with this? Really? "siri on = all times" on your iPhone 4? Amazing.

Anyway, below is my battery life comparison of iOS 5 (on the left) and iOS 5.0.1 (on the right). With both at 15%, I got more Usage but less Standby with 5.0.1.

1h 2m usage
6h 27m standby

92%
Seems to be doing just fine!
Usage was web browsing on wifi and checking emails a few times.

Mine went from decent to seemingly horrible after the update. I'm at

usage: 1 hour 18 minutes
standby: 1 hour 42 minutes
88%

There is no way I've used it that much. And I haven't done anything but the update last night.

WTF?

This is BS.

Why do people have to exaggerate so much. It misleads the people who do not know better!

Im working on recalibrating my battery right now. Down to 10%.
My battery life before the upate was superb.

WTF?

Try to do a reset on the phone.... after the update my usage = standby time for whatever reason but it was fixed after the reset.

My battery life is now way worse. After charging all night it was at 100% and then only an hour later it was down to 86%! It's a 4s btw. I just got off the phone with Apple Care and they are sending me to an Apple Store to swap the phone out.

That looks about normal. Certainly not horrible. 1 hour 18 minutes will bring it down about that amount. :apple:
