I haven't charged my phone since I updated at round 77% battery. Quite honestly, I don't think my battery life has changed, but I had fine battery life before, so not a huge deal for me.

That looks about normal. Certainly not horrible. 1 hour 18 minutes will bring it down about that amount. :apple:

Well - since I posted that 10 minutes ago I've watched drop down to 80% and I'm not even using it and there are no applications running in the background.

that suck

iphone 4 running background application 10 % 1 hr

i bet iphone 4s can do that

I did not think I had an issue, then I updated and thought it was great for a day or two. Now it seems worse. Not sure if it's my imagination.

ok apple . june 2012 no need new iphone , we need new battery improve

20 hour talk time 2G
10 hour talk time 3G
1000 hour standby

This is BS.

Why do people have to exaggerate so much. It misleads the people who do not know better!:mad:
These statements also require the reader to not be so quick to the trigger either.

The person is obviously asking how the phone is doing on battery life where NONE of those things are DISABLED. IE, normal (read: intended) usage. And I agree. I would like to know what the general, non-tippytoe battery life is.

edit
I'll post my battery stats here for my Sprint iPhone 4 (non-S). Overnight the battery dropped from 89% to 81%. iOS 5.0.0. Does this sound reasonable? I don't have many apps installed, but do still have the basics for Facebook, sports, etc. (just got the phone 2 days ago).

has someone in here try this setting yet

siri on = all times
wifi on = all times
bluetooth on = all times
touch = all times
internet = all times
game = all times
application = 80 install
sbsetting = install
mquickdo = install

how this one work with battery ?

i bet not gotta work up to 5 hour

this setting on my iphone 4 was hold 5 hr

Siri on iPhone 4?! Yea don't think so

When you say "reset"....there are several reset options...which option do you recommend?

Mine was fixed by just turning it on and off.... although if that doesn't work a hard reset (home and sleep buttons held down) should do it.

They can't make a new battery without making a new phone, so this idea is pointless.

Mine is also better. Last night after I updated, I got about 8 hours of usage, whereas I was getting just under 6. So a pretty decent improvement imo

If I'm going to get this bad of battery life, I mine as well be using LTE (I'm in Chicago).

This is my overall observation from updating to 5.0.1 - charging it to 100% - then discharging it till the phone died. Keep in mind that when I snapped this screenshot the phone wasn't dead yet, so I'd add about a good 5-10 minutes to Usage and about 15+ minutes to Standby.

Just got done calibrating the battery so I'll post up my results from today's run later on tonight or tomorrow but overall I'm very happy with the update Apple has made.

Below is my current setup...

Wi-Fi -> OFF (I only turn it on at home)
Bluetooth -> OFF

why do you keep Cell Network Search and Compass Calibration ON? I've had these off since literally the first day and have not experienced any issues with calls or gps use.

I'd rather keep it on, it's not impacting my battery life but turning those other settings off prior to 5.0.1 helped a bit though.

UPDATE: Oh boy was I wrong! Firstly, it has never "stuck" at 100% that long shortly after it started declining rapidly. I have been using it, but the battery is most definitely not better. I want to say it's worse but placebo might be kicking in since I've noticed it's not better. :mad:

Maybe you shouldn't post threads about how something is DEFINITELY fixed 10 minutes after a new software update is released??

I love how all these battery threads popped up yesterday way before anyone had spent enough time with the public release of 5.01 (not the beta) to come to any kind of conclusive results.

The more time I spend on forums the more I realize it's almost not worth weeding through the 99% of crap posts just to find the 1% which are worthwhile.
