Battery Life on Mavericks?

Is battery life better or worse?

I want to see if Mavericks pushes my 2013 13" MBA battery life to 15 hours!

Mine improved drastically (DP4) on a Retina MBP (2.3GHz / 16gb Ram).

Screen brightness @75%, iTunes playing in the background, web surfing, I get a solid ~6½-7 hours of battery.

With ML, it was a miracle when I could use this laptop more than 5hours on battery.


I don’t know if it’s good battery life or not for this specific laptop model, but considering I have a bunch of thing updating in the background for notifications (Facebook, Tweetbot, Mail, iCloud, Dropbox, etc.) I think it’s not bad at all.

I've been on my MBP 2011 for about 2 hours and it's only dropped to 97%. On ML, I can squeeze a good 7 hours out of the MBP during Xcode development sessions which include running simulators too.

I can squeeze a good 7 hours browsing and if I turn everything off and dim the display I can write in Word for around 12 hours

yeah it's a few hours more than normal on both counts and I'm using an rMBP 15"
