Battery life tips Mavericks MacBook Pro retina 15"

Hi, are there any tips to improve battery running on mavericks ? I'm coming from mountain lion and battery life seems to be worse . Anything I need to activate to see battery life improvements on mavericks ?

Turn off power nap (found in the Energy Saver preference pane). That will help, as the computer won't wake up periodically to check emails and such
