If Apple made a Skylake MBP with 16 hour battery life. Would you buy it over the current models?

Why not ask if people would prefer an 84 hour battery life seeing as specifics don't seem to matter in these forums.

Because 74wh was what the last years 13" model had? Sounds like a good base line to compare with no? Or do you just want to be difficult for the sake of being super pro-apple?

Perhaps OP should first ask Apple to develop the new model with the 74wh, get actual real time results of the battery times - before creating this post? Would that suit you better? /s

I had no idea that wanting to have some semblance of accuracy in engineering makes me "super pro-apple". And here I was just some guy on the internet pissed off that Apple has abandoned their Airport line, and am still waiting for my Airpods to be able to be ordered.

What would suit me better is if the poll reflected, at all, that there is a tradeoff required to get this mythical 16 hour battery life. Instead its so generic that it was essentially clickbait for people to just have another thread full of bitching about form factor.

It's because they sacrificed function over form. The new MacBook Pro is a beautiful machine but what use it if people are reporting 4-6 hours of use. No one has even reached the advertised 10 hours.

The tradeoff is you get the 2015 design. Same weight and chassis as the 2015. I am pretty sure the current Retina display is more power efficient because it is brighter for less power so that would probably be possible. So, basically you are giving up a thin and light laptop of the 2016 form factor.

In the end we are talking about:

Space for Battery or Thin and Light? The 74wh battery is approx 54% larger than the current tbMBP. All else being equal we are talking about a gain of 5.4 more hours on the advertised battery life, and their current battery test. That should put it at around safe 12 hour usage of full pro work.
