Battery Life with Panther

My battery life has drastically decreased since I installed Panther. I used to get about 2:30 on my PB G4 15" Al; now I get an hour at the most.

I have no idea what to do. I performed a clean install today, and that didn't help at all. I also reset the PMU, and that didn't work.

Don't know if this link will work, but a guy on the Apple Forums said that he's tried everything, even removing the powermanagement.plist, and the only thing that worked was buying a new battery.

Do you think that Panther could have ruined batteries?

Hmm. As I read the last comment, I am on disc 2 of my 10.3 install on my iBook. I sure hope my battery doesn't get fried.
