I have a 13" ultimate.
With only itunes, wifi, outlook, and word, I get around 3-4 hours of usage. That's with 100% brightness.
Apparently Apple's claim of 7 hours is only on 50% or 75% brightness, but I forgot which.
and the guys with the 11 inch ones, do you really get 5 hours ?
Just all depends on what I'm doing. Just surfing the net, doing some Office work, then yes I do. If I start blasting videos, downloading stuff and installing apps, then 5 hours is a pipedream.
If the MBA had the iPad's battery life, this would truly be my dream machine.
11.6/4/128 hereand the guys with the 11 inch ones, do you really get 5 hours ?
11.6/4/128 here
Safari, iTunes, and light Lightroom use with 2-6 bars brightness gets me over 5 hours still, which is great for cross country flights.
Skype will get me barely over 3 hours fullscreen, half brightness.
Netflix will get me 2-2.5 hours streaming HD, quarter brightness.
I'm seeing about 5 hours in OSX, but only about 4 hours in Win 7 doing the same sorts of things. Not sure what explains the disparity, but it's there.
Once I start 3D gaming in Win 7...well, it's damn well time to plug in.
quarter brightness ? lool that isreally dark
I've found I can almost reach the 7hr mark if I don't go past 50% brightness and limit my flash usage to next to nothing.
Does anyone know how many cycles a batterie of the new macbook air should last?
That's not necessarily true. Battery health varies greatly, depending on how a battery is cared for. Also, the time you get on a charge varies greatly, depending on how your Mac is configured and what you have running at any given time. You should be able to get about 1000 cycles before it's at 80% of it's health.
So, if you get 6 hours today, you'll get 4.8 after 1000 cycles.
