Ah thanks for giving me information from the UK. I don't live in the UK. And don't assume everybody does either.

And while you were busy replying to my post in a rude manner I guess you missed reading This part on Apple's information about the iPad battery:

Use Your iPad Regularly
For proper reporting of the battery’s state of charge, be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month (charging the battery to 100% and then completely running it down).

My Air and rMini get around 10 hours from one charge. I have them both set at around 70% brightness and primarily use them for web surfing, reading or an occasional game. Since Apple states up to 10 hours for web surfing I am satisfied with this although others here report much longer battery life. On another note I had to return 3 Airs for yellow screen issues so I am happy with my current iPad Air with 10 hours of battery life and a very good screen.

The charging and maintenance routine is the same regardless of region! The battery is 'pre calibrated'

Learn to read everything before coming at somebody so rudely.

At no point and time have I been rude! You yourself posted the false information. Apple pre calibrate the batteries. You quoted part of the battery care that states you should discharge the battery once a month! Not 'out of the box'. Battery technology has moved on a fair way since the days of making sure you run it flat and charge it all the way up before use.

I stated correct information and you suggested that I intentionally posted misinformation and I did not. Calling it false and misleading. That was rude. Find somebody else to argue with.

Also I just love how your posts instantly keep getting thumbed up especially when they don't have much reason to be. Multiple accounts? ;)

I'll leave the multi account accusation for admin to investigate ;)

As for the 'correct' information. Well you can continue to spread that information and expect to be challenged on it.

What I will say is yes if a battery isn't pre-calibrated then best practice is to discharge and then recharge. But the bit you keep missing is apple pre-calibrate their batteries across all their devices!

I'm not going to argue back and forwards on this.

My iPad 4 right now:

Around 48mins usage, 3h standby and it's at 95%, that's with WiFi and Cellular Data On, Location Services Off and screen at 50%

Make sure whatever features you don't really need are turned OFF. Background app refresh, email push, all that stuff should be off unless really needed. Here's another battery tip that's weird but true: do NOT swipe close apps in the background. Leave them open! Why? Every time you launch them again it takes more resources than just leaving them open or suspended. Seems weird but iOS actually manages the battery better than you can. Make sure the screen shuts off after two minutes or five minutes with no activity since the screen is a big battery hog.

OK,

I just completed running the battery down fully since doing the upgrade to 7.1, and doing a reset.

Final outcome?

With brightness near 50%, and light usage.

At near 3% left I got 17 hours 10 minutes.

I pretty happy with that so case closed.
