Charged it for the first time this morning and took it off charge around 9am. Currently on 68% so assume this wont last the day so wondered what people were getting and what the averages were?

Have had apple watch (sport) for about 10 days, and battery has never been lower than 15% at end of day which typically includes tracking outdoor runs.

Give it a couple of days/cycles.

My 38 was terrible the first day then it settled down. Now barely get to 60% with 2-3hrs usage and 14-16hrs standby. No disabling anything and quite a lot of notifications, navigation, etc.

Yeah I think I need to do that (42mm Sport) - currently on 66% so will give it a week or so

I had the same issue with mine the first charge. Do a hard reboot on the watch and on your iPhone. Then if possible charge the Watch to 100%.

My 38mm gets about 1.5 days. I forgot to charge it one night and still had enough to to get to about noon the next day, where it went into power reserve during a hike as I had Workout running.

If Apple Watch is anything like my Android Wear (Moto 360) one of the largest power draws would be transferring large quantities of data over Bluetooth ("installing" apps, syncing photos, etc). Music playlist syncing to the watch only happens while on charge for that reason.

I'd give it a few days to settle in. The first few days of exploring/playing uses the battery more.

THe old fashioned home button and lock button reboot on the phone and how would I do this on the watch?

You can reboot the watch by pressing and holding the Friends side button until the menu comes up. Keep in mind the boot up process is quite long and probably uses up some battery itself.

Put my watch (42mm BSS) on at 8:45am and take it off at about 1 am every night, Regular usage, nothing too heavy I suppose. Most nights I have between 45-50% remaining. I couldn't be happier with the battery.

Bromeo all I get is power reserve, power off or lock device

At that point you can slide the button for "Power Off" and wait for the watch to shut down. During this time you can also restart your iPhone.

Once the watch is completely off, press and hold the side/friend button to power it back on. You should see the Apple logo while it boots. It takes a good minute or so.

Put it on at 7am this morning. Currently coming up for 22:00 and I'm on 36% — this includes an hour at the gym tracking my exercise.

I have to say I'm quite impressed with the battery so far, but I'm not an intensive user so maybe that's why it's good for me at the moment.

I am genuinely surprised that after the first 2 days of experiencing horrible battery life, it has now gotten so much better. For anyone who just got their watch, battery life will improve!

I have about 35-45% by end of day, start my day with watch at 8AM up to 11PM, i get lots of notifications throughout the day, and play some games for about 1 hour in total on it too, lots of apps installed, full brightness, all notifications on with sound and haptic feedback up fully.

pretty good battery (42/SS) :D

You posted at 10:30 so if your watch went from fully charged to 68% in an hour and a half, you are playing with it too much.

Give it a day or two but I hav always put mine on the charger at the end of the day with 25-35% remaining. Most here say their watch lasts the day.

Give it a few days and let us all know how you are making out.

Posted at 3.30pm mate after taking it off charge at 9am

Took mine off charge at 7:30am and it's now just after 10pm and I'm on 58%

I had an issue after my first charge and I did the reset that people are suggesting and it helped.

Gotcha. That makes me feel better then! Today was the first FULL a day of using it. Took it off the charger at 10am and it's now 7:30 and I only have 29% left. I'm hoping it gets better. My 'usage' in the AW App says a total usage of under 4hrs with standby hanging around 8.5hrs. Seems under performed but I keep hearing to give it a couple of full charges to calibrate...

Did you have to do the 'restart AW, restart iPhone' sequence at all or did it natrly stabilize after the first couple of days/charges?
