Bought myself the rMBP 2016 base model which gets me easily through the day on his socks, with hands in his pocket.
Exact same working environment, huge battery difference.
Still think the rMB was the most fantastic laptop I ever had. It ticked all boxes - and then some - except the battery. Maybe I got a bad battery. It's the first time ever I had hard feelings shutting down a laptop for the last time before switching to a new one. The rMBP 2016 is a great machine no doubt about that, but it feels like a brick compared to the rMB feather. I'm not complaining though.
