Hello to all,

I came here for help , since this forum always helped me.

What would Maroon say

And it goes like this.....

I bought pro max 14 one month ago in two days.
When I first bought it it had 105% of battery health and 4520mha.
How can I know , i know true the shortcuts , true Imazing , 3Utools , and so on.
After I installed 16.3 ios , i came home and saw battery health 99% on 3utools
Then I waited a couple of days , long story short , my phone had 20 cycles , and battery capacity is now at 97% , and nominal charge capacity is 4166 .....
In 19 cycles it went from 105% - 97%....

I will post a picture in attachment

I gave a try to return the phone to apple but they say until it comes to 80% thay cant do nothing

And one more thing , it still shows 100% on battery health on iphone , but i dont belive in that

On top of all , it says and you will see , true analytics log , nominal capacity 96% , or something like that , and maximum 101%

So what to do?

Tnx all in front and greetings from Montenegro

Probably stress less? :)

Sounds like you got bonus battery to start. You had 105% of the expected battery because they put a larger mAh than promised in the device. The 14 PM is supposed to be 4,323mAh. Why return a phone for having a bigger battery than expected?

Some of the changes to reported percentage are most likely just the battery percentage correcting itself based on current data. It's a box of chemicals and metal and any reading is just an estimate. There's science behind it, but it's still just a guess based on how much info the phone has to work with. Don't let it keep you up at night. If you think it is an inaccurate reading, you can always do a device reset and start fresh to see if anything changes.

Your battery health may continue to tick down a couple points a month depending on your use. Nothing to worry about. Like you said, if it gets below 80%, Apple might want to crack it open and take a look to make sure it is not damaged or defective.

The question to ask: is the phone's battery life meeting your needs? (regardless of numbers) If the phone is no longer getting you through a day and you can't wait to get below 80%, you can always buy a battery pack, get a second charger to keep at work, pay for a battery replacement, etc.

Please install iMazing and see what is capacity. Post screenshot. Hard to believe it's 97%.

Unfortunately it doesn't matter what you believe or what a 3rd party battery app says. Apple uses their own diagnostic equipment/software to determine battery health/capacity and if it's above 80% while under warranty they will not replace it. If it falls under 80% while under warranty or AppleCare+ then they will replace the battery free of charge

But there is also one thing , when it says 100% , that doesnt mean its 100%

It always less

And then , it falls down to ect 98%

And then , suddenly to 91%

And then it stops for some time

That was the case on my pro max 13 , and now pro max 13 that my wife uses have 91% and 260 cycles

This one on the other hand keeps loosing health , and it is not stopping

You have three choices, argue with Apple and get a replacement ( good luck) , sell it and buy another or live with it.
He can also pay for a battery replacement out of his own pocket for $79.99. I did that last week with an SE1 which was sitting at 89% BH. Apple charged me $49.99.

Keep your phone and see how it goes to 50 cycles, don't use wirelesses charges because of heat. Maybe battery will stay at 98% capacity next 50 cycles. Also I saw in some cases capacity will increase, there is thread on this subforum.

Seems like a fast decrease, but worrying about battery health is not worth it. When battery life (i.e., runtime) decreases, I’d worry.

If you upgrade every year, worrying about battery health isn’t worth it at all.

If you keep your devices for a long time, worrying is slightly more worth it, with caveats: any battery health-induced decent runtime will be destroyed by iOS updates. This is the only scenario in which it might be worth it, because battery health has an impact if the device is severely updated. If you never update iOS, worrying about battery health is completely pointless: heavily degraded batteries do not lose runtime on original versions of iOS.

Seeing you have an iPhone 14 Pro Max, unless you plan to keep it for a long time (a number of years) and you plan to update iOS as far as it can go, I wouldn’t worry.

So, is your question why your third party tool(s) show a different capacity than your phone app.? As others have alraedy pointed out, it only matters to Apple what the phone shows. They don't care about 3rd party apps regardless of how familiar you are with those apps.

Good luck.

In my country , battery replacement is not an option.
You must replace the whole rear panel , what cost around 500 or more euros.....
And you can replace battery whenever you want.
If its a battery issue , I am not that much woried , but battery health can also degrade fast if there is motherboard issue.
And again , if there is a motherboard issue ,it is not worth to repair that

Different battery analysis apps will deliver different results. They will not all agree.

Try to relax and enjoy your phone.
