I purchased FruitJuice app a few years ago for my older laptop and have tried to follow its "battery maintenance" notifications for when to plug/unplug to hopefully keep the battery health high. As batteries have changed over the years, is this even necessary to install and run in the background (but also with it's notifications and even follow the instructions) these days with the new 14" MBP? Or is it overkill and I should just use it as needed and charge whenever?

Last thing I want is some app bugging me to plug/unplug. I dont know maan but my work Lenovo laptop is plugged in 90% of time and I still get the same 5-6 hours of battery life like I did 5 years ago when I got it new. People tend to overthink this.

Agree. It’s a consumable, so consume it.

I don't know about Fruitjuice, but I will definitely use AlDente on my new MacBook Pro once its arrived: https://apphousekitchen.com
No cumbersome experience, just set it once and you're good to go.
I previously had issues and have the issue now with my current 2018 MacBook Pro that the battery died very early and only holds up to roughly 1 hour because of my 90% "desktop" use case where the charging cable is always plugged in.
