Hello,

When I plug my macbook in with the magsafe, the led on the magsafe does not illuminate, and my macbook wont charge. My mac shows its plugged in and getting power. When i click on the battery is says "Battery is not charging, Power source: Power adapter"

And if I unplug the macbook, it will still work on battery power.

I already made an appointment with the genius bar for later tonight but maybe someone could help me first....

Thanks.

What is the charge on your battery? if it is over 94% or so, then it is normal, it won't charge until it drops below that.

Sounds like you covered everything you could, and time to go to that genius bar appointment. Good luck.

Sounds good. Time for that apple care to pay off. The power adapter is covered under that, right?

Yes it is. They will test your adapter and your MB to see where the problem is.

Could be a battery thing, PROM, anything.

Good thing you have applecare. I have one that has a bad logic board with same symptoms except battery went totally dead, won't charge and will only work with adapter now.😡

No applecare for stupid me and it's only 14 months old..

Wow, sorry man, that sucks. At first I was not going to get AppleCare, but then I realized I might be kicking myself for that decision later on.

In case it is a logic board issue, and if you might have to leave your laptop there overnight, maybe you should start a backup of your system. Just in case. Oh, and I would create a separate account for them to use, or at least change your keychain password.

They said they they will replace the logic board. Should take a couple days.

Your AppleCare paid off! In all honesty, I've had lots of Apple computers and the MB's have given me nothing but grief.

Hope it comes back and lives a long life.
