I had no idea it had been removed. Lucky me, living in ignorant bliss this whole time !

It’s weird though that if you enable it, the battery bar doesn’t deplete. It’s static with the number. Maybe they have some decisions to make on how to really present it for production.
This feature will be great, but only if battery icon will deplete. See % and static battery icon is weird.

Now that this is here do you think they’ll allow customization next?

Like allow to set the text color and allow to display text only.
I hope so. I want it to always be black, at least when the battery is white or yellow. I also wish they would make it bigger to be over the icon and not squeezed into it. Hard to read even on a 13PM

Yeah, I agree... I initially was excited to hear about the addition, but seeing that the battery icon always looks "full", I'm less thrilled about it and probably wouldn't use it.

When was it removed? I'm running 15.5 and it's there. It's never not been there for me.

How else do you want them to handle it?

If the battery icon reduces in power, as well as displaying the percentage, the percentage would become illegible with certain backgrounds. Imagine the icon at 50%. What colour do you display the 5 digit and the 0 digit? In white? Then you’d lose the 0 against a white background.

I think this is the best compromise. It would be a hot mess any other way

Apple needs to re-align the battery percentage. OCD is kicking in.

Can be handled very well. I solved this in times, when I had Android and made custom ROMs :).
Every % of battery can have its own picture (or vector). Shadow can be added etc..

Plenty of ways to do it, you lack creativity. They even have a circle battery complication on the Apple Watch.

As someone who so far really dislikes it what I really don’t get is why putting on low power mode forces it on if you have it off normally. I have a XS that’s both finicky with lightning and also due to its case maybe finicky with charging pads and nothing worst than first thing in morning seeing the battery looking full coz it’s a big yellow blob and only after realising it’s 20%
