Battery percentage coming back

When was it removed? I'm running 15.5 and it's there. It's never not been there for me.

Only removed on phones with the little “Notch” for Face ID at the top, due to reduced top menu bar space. iPhone 8, SE, etc. kept it.

It would be a hot mess any other way

ANY method showing percentage is going to be a hot mess. They chose to go with the hot mess of not showing a visual indicator too - which I agree, is fine. If you can see the percentage, you don’t need the visual representation too. If you can live with just the visual representation, then you don’t need the percentage.

I’m just thankful they didn’t choose the hot mess of “We’ll mess with the colors so that it’s all visible, all the time, and looks like something out of a video game” 🙄

Except sometimes it does, such as when you've got less than 20% left.

Personally I don't understand why they've not just put it next to the battery, there's space for it with the smaller notch of the 13. And failing that just show a number. It doesn't need to be pasted on a sometimes full, sometimes not battery.

Plue they squeeze it inside the icon, so I can barely read it

So, just don't use it and let it same like on iOS 15. Problem solved )

I really don't understand why Apple is excluding the 13 Mini from this, when there is plenty of room for it.
