Hi, everyone!

I have a 2018 MBP 13" and noticed that the battery percentage is different on the login screen than it is when you actually log in to the computer. It has a 2-4% difference. I took it to the Apple Store and the bug own shows up when you have File Vault turned on. I'm not going to not have my files encrypted but it's so annoying!

Anyone else have this issue? Apple released a fix for this issue a while ago. Not sure why I don't have it. I'm running MacOS 10.14.2.

I have the same issue on a 2018 MBP 15” running MacOS 10.14.2 and FileVault is turned on. Both on battery or wall power it still does it.

It doesn’t bother me and I didn’t even know the battery status was on the login screen until I saw your post haha. But now I’m curious to know what’s causing it.

at login in it reads the activity monitor that can fluctuates by 1-2% after login is from OS
I always when i want to fully charge the mbp i look at the percentage in activity m

The cause is FileVault. If you turn it off, the issue goes away. :)

I don't think a fully charged battery will lose 2% of its life when the laptop is turned on though. The issue is only persistent when you boot the laptop up after it has been shut down. If you restart the computer, there is no issue.
