I currently have a samsung. My daily screen-on-time is, on average, 3h40m

I use my phone mostly for twitter/facebook/youtube/texting. No games, a photo here and there but no heavy use of the camera.

will the 12 mini survive through an entire day based on my usage ?

I’d choose a phone based on the size you like. If it doesn’t last an entire day of constant usage (and most iPhones don’t) then just get a small battery pack to boost it mid day if you’re not near plug in power.

Despite I don’t have a good relationship with 12 mini, recently I tried 13 and I would highly recommend to go for a 13 mini. It’s battery is improved and at least one year more futureproof. I will return 13 and go for a 13 mini.

So you save your soul and came back to mini ;)
True. If I wouldn’t have so many meetings today, I would already call to Apple Support for a pick up. But yeah, I’m happy I tried bigger one, because I felt like a boss who manage a time of the world, but at the same time, it is so big and heavy for me. Once mini, always mini, I guess.

Btw battery wise - iPhone 13 is incredible! With using it I realized that I don’t need to upgrade to a bigger one. It had 77% after my whole day of use. 😀

Nice to read that 13’s battery is better, because my 12 mini has now got a battery health of 87% and is only 11 months old. My only complaint about it.

I would highly recommend the 13 mini over the 12 mini.
I would highly recommend iPhone 14 pro Max Xs over iPhone 12 mini.

iPhone 12 mini is just fine. The battery is better than what you'd expect, especially if you don't play games on it. I've had it since March and I don't even charge it every day.

The battery health is at 97%

True. My 12 mini has 88% after a year. 13 (the big 6,1”) is really amazing, for me personally, I could handle almost two days without charging overnight. So I assume, I will be very happy with 13 mini. It’s strange that I can write perfectly while switching between two sizes, of course, mini is better for one hand using. Also I don’t worry too much about smaller one, the bigger is bad for carrying around.

If weight is an issue for you, the iPhone 12 offers a great compromise. You get the bigger screen and battery (2815 vs 2227mAh) but its still pretty light with just 162g (the 13 Mini is 140g, the regular 13 is 173g). And you can save quite some money, especially when buying refurbished or from private hand.

I have the 12 Mini 64GB since August (from my company) and Health is still at 99% but I was never truly happy with its battery performance, display size and storage. So I am buying a regular 12 with 128GB tomorrow, which will solve all three problems at once. Just 4 months old for 670€ compared to 850€ new.

Nice idea. But I don’t have a problem with screen on mini, so I think that problem with battery on 12 mini will be solved with 13 mini. I spent almost whole days before the computer or iPad, so I don’t need another big screen with me on those occasions when I go out for a walk. I also have 128GB 12 mini with almost 100GB free space so I think that 13 mini will be perfect for me. I like to write with one hand and move around without needing to strech my fingers around big screen.

Then the 13 Mini will be perfect for you! Tests prove that it reaches similar runtimes like the regular 12, which is really nice.

I have an iPad too, but since I give it to my sister for Xmas, I dont mind a bigger phone screen in return. Cheers!

Moderate to heavy use my mini 12 does at 12-3pm without charging. 13 mini is way better. I’m moderate use today at the vaccination center for work week I’m on 38% after 8hrs. Very happy with the performance.

3h40 of SOT should be fine for a 12 mini with a new battery. However, based on my experience, its battery health (capacity) will be degrading quite quickly. My one year old mini 12 has it at 86% at the moment and I still get about 4h45 SOT from it, but if it continues dropping at this rate I will be swapping the battery before the end of my 2-year warranty. iPhone 13 mini should give you some extra SOT compared to 12 mini (better A chip inside), however I expect its battery to age similarly quickly. 🤔
