My 2016 tbMBP is needing a new battery. I’m at 206 cycles and 59 percent health. If I had the option I would take the machine into the Apple store and have the keyboard recall done (includes a new battery) but that’s not an option right now. I just need the battery replaced and do not know if Apple is still accepting mail in repairs. Has anyone had anything done during the lockdowns?

Do they have any surcharge for the mail in service? when I tried to get them to do it in store back in late December, it was $199 for the battery replacement on my mid-2014 MacBook Pro.

Just a note for anyone looking into this - make sure you do the battery from Apple. I did the battery with my friend and bought it 3rd party off ebay and had issues a year+ later. But because I had did it on my own, Apple wouldn't fix the battery. I ended up having to go to Experimax to do it. Luckily it was around the same price, but I'd have been more comfortable with apple doing it.
