How long does apple keep older generations of computers/ipods/iphones instock? The reason I am curious is because there seems to be a hole in apple's ipad battery replacement policy. Instead of simply replacing your ipad's battery, you pay $100 and they ship you a new ipad.

Now, once ipad 2 comes out in all other counties, I assume apple's stock of original ipads will eventually run out, so will they then just ship you a new ipad 2 when you want a battery replacement?

    Nice try. :)

Just for a frame of reference, the Genius Bar still has plenty of iPhone 3G replacement phones, and I think they may have a few original 2007 aluminum backed iPhone in stock as well for swaps.

No. They will not run out. You can try to do it when apple released iPad 5 or 6 maybe, then apple might send you iPad 2.
